Motion by Councilmember. Look, seconded by Councilmember'Olson, to table final plat of GAD's Praixie, Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Look, Olsot,'Dehen, Elvig, and Jeffrey. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Strommen. Case#5: Request for Two Year Extension of Lease for Portion.of Property Located at. 6701 Highway 10 NW; Case of Youth First.Community of Promise Management Intern Gladhill reviewed that in December 2006,the Council approved a lease'with Youth.First Community of Promise for a portion of the office space at 6701 Highway 10 through the end of August 2007. Staff is recommending that the lease be extended for a period of two years. Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by.Councilmember Look,,to,adopt Resolution #07- 08.190 to extend the lease with Youth First.Community of Promiselfor a period of two years. Absent: Councilmember.Strommen, Case#6t Consider kroposed Amendments to 5.08 (Public Nuisances),5.11 (Weeds), and 5.12(Condition of Premises) of Chapter Nine of City Code- Case of City of Ramey," Assistant Community Development Director Frolik,reviewed that the City Council has recently , adopted an abatement ordinance that will become effective within the next month. In the process of crafting the ordinance;it came to staff s attention that there were changes',necessary to the public nuisance, condition of premises, and weeds sections of Chapter Five: The purpose,-of those proposed amendments is to consolidate public nuisances,identify City Code violations that. would be subject to abatement, and clarify and specify`the definitions of junk vehicles, and other., nuisance activities; In ':addition to these changes, City. Councilhas expressed interest in establishing an adininis otive ticketing. process as an alternative to a. ciWIo: n'that is routed through' the County court system. This ordinance establishes that administrative ticketing process, Councilmember',.Elvig stated there are a lot of people, that.'are anxious about noxious weeds coming into their yard from adjacent properties. The-City.is;starting to coyer some of those - issues, Assistant Community,Development Director Frolik explained the tall grass and weeds were in,a separate section of ChaptOr 5. They are'trying to consolidote allthe public nuisances into one section. Ms. Frolik reviewed the summary, of changes to'Chapter Five.
