CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Special Work Session on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Sarah Strommen Councilmember Jill Johns Councilmember Mark Kuzma Councilmember John LeTourneau Councilmember Chris Riley Councilmember Melody Shryock Councilmember Kristine Williams Also Present: City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich Human Resources Manager Colleen Lasher 1. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Strommen called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:07 p.m. 2. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION 2.01: City Board and Commission Interviews Human Resources Manager Colleen Lasher stated this is a condensed interview process for filling two vacant seats; one on the Park and Recreation Commission and another on the Planning Commission. Mayor Strommen asked Human Resources Manager Lasher for an overview of the interview process referring to the scoring and note sheets provided to the Council for each interviewee. Human Resources Manager Lasher stated the scoring isn't based strictly on the numerical scores given, but is a comprehensive score taking into account the written notes and thoughts from each Councilmember as well. She reminded the Council that the interview notes are subject to public record. She stated she will invite the candidates in, explain the process to each, and then the Council will proceed to the interview questions. Bruce Anderson was the first interviewee. Human Resources Manager Lasher invited him in and reviewed the interview process with him. She stated there would be five questions asked by the Councilmembers and both candidates chosen for the vacancies would be contacted later in the week and asked to complete all paperwork needed immediately.
