B. DUST CONTROL <br /> 1. Construction activities which have potential for generation of dust shall be restricted to avoid nuisance. <br /> 2. Controls shall be provided to confine dust and dirt within immediate area of demolition. <br /> 3. Masonry and debris shall be thoroughly soaked with water during demolition and loading operations, if <br /> necessary to control dust. <br /> 4. Water is available from the fire hydrant located on the site and may be purchased from the City of Ramsey. <br /> The Contractor must supply his own water meter with backflow preventer to the satisfaction of the Owner. <br /> Fees for water usage shall be paid separately by Contractor to the City of Ramsey in accordance with the <br /> City's 2016 Fee schedule. <br /> C. NOISE CONTROL <br /> 1. Noise control measures shall be taken to limit amount of noise and prevent nuisance. <br /> 2. Construction activities generating significant noise shall be limited to normal working hours. <br /> D. INSTALLATION OF SILT FENCE <br /> 1. Mechanically install the geotextile with the salvaged edge on top. Place the geotextile directly behind the <br /> soil-slicing blade as it works to achieve consistent placement and depth. Do not plow soil if using the <br /> slicing method. Roll the wheels of a tractor or skid steer on each side of the geotextile at least 2 times to <br /> compact the soil immediately next to the geotextile. <br /> 2. Install posts adjacent to the back of the geotextile with the studs facing away from the geotextile fabric. <br /> Secure each post by inserting three plastic zip ties through the geotechtile. <br /> 3. Remove silt fence upon final stabilization. All removed materials become the property of the contractor. <br /> 3.02 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT <br /> A. Silt fence will be measured by length along the base of the fence from the outside of the end post to the outside <br /> of end post. <br /> 3.03 BASIS OF PAYMENT: <br /> A. Control work performed for protection of all construction areas including areas such as borrow and waste areas, <br /> haul roads, equipment and material storage sites, and temporary plant sites, will not be measured and paid for <br /> directly but shall be considered as a subsidiary obligation of Contractor with costs included in contract prices <br /> bid for items to which they apply. <br /> B. SILT FENCE <br /> 1. The Owner will make payment on the basis of the following schedule: <br /> a. Initial installation,50 percent of payment,and <br /> b.
