It vas noted that the Park Board has not reviewed this plat for park dedication <br />requirement s. <br /> <br />Council received graft copies of the Scoping ~A~ for site 'F" as a site for · <br />future landfill; final copies will be available on June 30th. Council was <br />invited to contact city staff with their comments. <br /> <br />City Administrator Hartley suggested that rather than to approve the special <br />City Council meeting for June 30, 1986, that Council merely adjourn tonight's <br />meeting to June 30, 1986 at 7:30 p.m. Council concurred. <br /> <br />~ Disc~ssion Re~ardin~ Landfill Commission: <br /> <br />Notion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilme~ber Sorteberg to <br />introduce Ordinance ~86-8 establishing a Landfill Co~mission vhich would be an <br />advisory commission to the City Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Council~emberz Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />~ ~illin~ The Accountin~ Clerk Position: <br /> <br />Council revieved the information received from the Personnel Committee <br />concerning the position offer to Ms. Turbak and another offer for e~ployment <br />she has received from the State of Minnesota. Couucilme~ber Reimann stated <br />that the City should not become involved in a bidding way by making a counter- <br />offer to Ns. Turbak. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by ltayor Heitman to consider the <br />second or third ranking applicant for the position of Accounting Clerk. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Eeitman, Councilmembers Cox and Rehnann. <br />Voting No: Councilmembers Sorteberg and Schlueter. <br /> <br />Notion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Hayor Haitian to authorize the City <br />Administrator to hire temporary help in the inter/~. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Bellman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br /> Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Reimann suggested hiring someone to ansver phones so that full- <br /> time staff can be used for more useful purposes. <br /> <br />~ Comments From City Attorney: <br /> <br /> City Attorney Goodrich reported on the status of a lavsuit which cambe about <br /> because a small child vas found in a pond at l?Sth Lane ~.W. The child's <br /> family had been visiting the residents at that address. Because of the lack of <br /> oxygen during the accident, the child is seriously brain damaged. There vs no <br /> fencing around the pond. City ordinance says there should be fencing around <br /> man-made ponds and this particular pond is considered to be a natural drainage <br /> pond. The persons instigating the suit are requesting Councilmember Cox's <br /> opinion.
