Action at <br />that time was to table and place it on this agenda. On July 22, 1986, the City <br />Council discussed the composition of the Commission. I have determined, from <br />review of the City Charter and State Law, that the Council itself must appoint <br />the Commission members. The only other requirement is the following Charter <br />provision: <br /> <br />Section 2.02: <br /> <br />.... ~otice of initial formation and all vacancies shall be published in <br />the City newsletter and in the legal newspaper. ~embership of various <br />boards and commissions shall not exceed nine members, at least two-thirds <br />of which shall be residents of the City of Ramsay. <br /> <br />Enclosed is a copy of the original ordinance presented to you on July 22, 1986 <br />for your review. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Your action will be to review the ordinance, revise it based on your <br />discussion, and develop whatever procedures you deem appropriate for selection <br />of the Commission membership. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Administrator <br />Attorney <br />Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />~inance Officer <br />Public Works Superintendent <br />Economic Development Commission <br /> <br />i <br /> <br /> <br />
