· Set up mediation cases before a county organization is up <br /> and running by using the Brooklyn Center Mediation <br /> Center and its volunteers. <br /> <br />· Set up an office and select and staff to run the program. <br /> <br />Solicit funds for first a 3-month pilot project of about <br /> $6000 from civic groups, and area businesses plus <br /> other interested parties. An annual budget of about <br /> $25,0~0 would be sought from foundations, businesses, <br /> interested cities, fund raisers, and other sources. <br /> <br />We would ask that you consider giving your official support to <br />the program. We feel it is a direct benefit to the city of <br />Ramsey and that you will find that your city staff, police <br />department, public works and city attorney will have occasion to <br />make use of its services this year. <br /> <br />Secondly, and separately, we ask for you to consider a request <br />for funding of 5 cents per capita for this program in your 1987 <br />budget to help meet the annual expenses of $25,000. <br /> <br />Thank you for your consideration.
