GE~ERkL GOYE~ME~T <br /> <br />]EED: 1reproved Local Government Aid (L GA) base for the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />The LGA is a way the State of Minnesota shares their revenue sources with <br />Cities, Counties, School Districts, and Townships. Due to the formulas use8 <br />in calculating LGA, Ramsey receives a proportionately smaller share of LGA <br />than many other forms of government; thus requiring the taxpayer of Ramsey to <br />foot a greater portion of the cost for providing public aervices than other <br />communities or governments. <br /> <br />ACTION TEAM: The following persons are members of the "Action Team" and will <br />contribute in their own way to seeking a solution to the NEED. <br /> <br />Primary Coordinator <br />Secondary Coordinator <br /> <br />Dave Hartley, City Administrator <br />Noel Graczyk, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Mayor <br />Counc il Member <br />Economic Bevelopment Commission Member <br /> <br />OBJECTIVE: As members of the Action Team you are asked to: <br /> <br />1) Monitor the status of ].GA and report any proposed changes to the <br /> City Council, Commissions, and the public. <br /> <br />2) Lobby State legislators to enact legislation which will correct <br /> any disparities which currently exist. <br /> <br />3) Provide factual information to the public regarding LGA. <br /> <br />ACTION: This team viii likely be active for the next two to three years while <br />the State Legislature deals with the problems of taxation. During this time <br />the team should be active several months prior to legislative sessions and <br />during legislative sessions.
