ACTION FLAI~ <br />PUBLIC SAFETY <br /> <br />Early warning syste~ for storms, major catastrophes and civil defense. <br /> <br />~otification of impending hazardous weather and other catastrophes is a public <br />effort which has become common to urban and some rural areas. Director <br /> <br />OBJECTIVE: <br /> <br />1) Evaluate types of early warning systems currently in use in cities of <br /> similar geography to Ramsey'a. <br /> <br />2) Determine what system would best work for Ramsey and the cost for <br /> complete coverage of the city. <br /> <br />3) Determine an acquisition plan and timetable. <br /> <br />4) Determine funding needs and sources. <br /> <br />ACTION: Report to the Council with findings and recommendation on the need <br />for a warning system.
