Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Request For Rezonin~ From R-1 Residential To B-1 Business; Case <br /> Of Mr. Loren Leinin_eer: <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that the request is to rezone a 4-1/2 acre parcel located <br />located south of 167th Avenue across from Quicksilver Street from Residential <br />to Business. Planning and Zoning is recommending the same action taken in a <br />recent request from Bob Muller for adjacent property -- rezoning to Rural <br />Business. <br /> <br />Mr. Leininger stated he is considering developing a bowling alley on a majority <br />of the property. <br /> <br />Council expressed concern with drainage on the property, especially with a high <br />water use like a bowling alley. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to <br />table Mr. Loren Leininger's request for rezoning from Residential to Business <br />until Mr. Leininger can approach Council with a definite proposal for a <br />specific development that would include a market study and address water useage <br />and drainage. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Schlueter and DeLuca. Voting 1~o: l~one. <br /> <br />~ Anoka County Mediation Project: <br /> <br />Ms. Lonni McCauley, Task Force member of the Anoka County Mediation Project was <br />present and referred to her presentation to Council on August 26, 1986 and <br />requested Council Bupport of that project at this time. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to adopt <br />Resolution ~86-156 extending support for the Anoka County Mediation Project. <br />(Please refer to resolution file for Resolution #86-156). <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Ms. McCauley stated that cities in the County are being <br />requested to contribute $.05/per person; the balance of the funds will come <br />from grants, foundations, businesses and civic organizations; the mediators are <br />volunteers; Brooklyn Center has a facility in operation now and there should be <br />another operating facility in this area by January, 1987. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox and <br />DeLuca.
