~EQUEST ~OR CONDITIONAL USE PE~IT TO OPERATE A NANUFACTURING BUSINBSS IN TEE B-I BUSINESS DISTRICT; CASE OF l~. ~COTT BLOWERS By: Anne Norris, Community Develolment Director CASE ~: Background: Mr, Scott Blowers is requesting a conditional use permit to operate a manufacturing business in the B-1 Business District at 6043 Highway ~10 N.W. (the old Kovar building). Mr. Blowers manufactures custom cabinets and is proposing to use approximately 1500 square feet of the l~ovar building to operate a small shop with a maximum of 2-3 employees. As the Commission recalls, Kovar operated the building as a manufacturing operation and the City Council just granted approval to a conditional use permit to ParaBody, Inc. for a manufacturing operation in that building. Enclosed for your information are the following items: a) Application b) Site location map c) Public hearing notice d) Properties notified e) Proposed findings of fact Observations: The Commission may wish to specify certain conditions for the permit such as: no outdoor storage, adequate employee parking, signs, etc. Recommendation: Co, mis s ion Action: Motion to: Adopt Findings of Fact OOmrelating to a request by Mr. Scott Blowers for a conditional use permit to operate a manufacturing business in the B-1 Business District. -and- Motion to: Recommend approval of the request by Mr. Scott Blowers for a conditional use permit to operate a manufacturing business in the B-1 Business District at 6043 Highway ~10 N.W.
