PROCEIH)ING$ OF CITY COUNCIL <br /> CII'Y OF <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Kamsey City Council conducted m special meeting on Nonday, June 9, 1986 at <br />the P. amsey Municipal Center, 15153 I~owthen Blvd. I~.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gary Heitman <br />Councilmember Gary Reimann <br />Councilmember A1 $orteberg <br />Councilmember Jean Schlueter <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator David Hartley <br />Finance Officer Noel Graczyk <br />Community Development Director Anne Norris <br />Public Works Superintendent Merle Mevissen <br />Reporter Kathy Cassidy <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Arnie Cox <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m. and led in the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />A~?~OVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember $orteberg to <br />approve the agenda as submitted. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann <br />and Schlueter. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Cox. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />~ Hirin~ Of Buildin~ Official: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that the candidate selected for the position is Alvin <br />Erickson and Council has had the opportunity to meet him. Mr. Hartley <br />recommended that Mr. Erickson be offered a starting salary of $20,000 with <br />consideration for an annual salary of $22,000 after 6 months. Following that, <br />Council can consider establishing a long period step program based on the <br />implications of the labor contract. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann inquired as to how long it will be before Mr. Erickson <br />achieves Class II certification. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley replied that Class II certification could be achieved within 6 <br />months.
