DISCUSSION REGARDING EXISTING DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS <br /> IN THE CONliERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL AREAS <br /> By: Anne Norris, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Backgroundl <br /> <br />At the last meeting, the Commission requested that I survey other cities' <br />requirements for car lots to serve as a basis for a discussion of Ramsey's <br />standards for commercial and industrial development. This discussion stems <br />from the joint Planning Commission- Economic Development Commission meeting on <br />July 15 when the Planning Com~nission agreed to review the City's development <br />controls and determine what additional controls may be needed. <br /> <br />For your information, enclosed are: <br /> <br />1) Survey of other cities' requirements for car sales <br />2) Section 170.015H - Non-Conforming Uses <br />3) Section 170.016F - B-1 Business District <br />4) Section 170.016G - B-2 Business District <br />5) Section 170.016I - I Industrial District <br />6) Section 170.Ol?L - Site Plan Review <br />7) "Making Zoning Districts More Effectvive" from Winter 1986 APA Journal <br />8) "Zipping Up the Strip" from July 1986 Planning Magazine <br /> <br />In addition, the subcommittee of the EDC and Planning Commission will be <br />meeting to discuss development restrictions and performance standards for all <br />development within the City's industrial and commercial areas. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Will be based on your discussion. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Administrator <br />Attorney <br />Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br />X <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Public Works Superintendent <br />Other <br /> <br /> <br />
