The by the direction o~ the
Cemetery
Co~mittee~
City
Counotl,
has been searching out options for a .new cemetery site in the
City of Ramsey since Rameey and the Anoka area are becomin&

Cemetery Committee met on February 1~ 1986, with Bob Sylvester
and Pastor Dale Olson of Cross oF Hope Lutheran Church.

Cross of Hope o~ne the 10 acre parcel marked aaa and aba. (See
attached).

Eember/s fro~ Cross of Rope have purchased the 10 acre parcel
adjacent to Cross of Rope (aCe and ada).

Both 10 acre parcels are divided in the Diddle by the power
line ~lth a 200* easement. There are approximately ~ acres of
buildable land in each of the ~ - halves since the power line
e~se~ent can only be used for p~rking. (See dra~in&)

The South half parcels (aBa and aDa)'are bordered by a ro~ o~
trees on the Eorth and South edges, (See drawin&)

Approximately 770 grave sites are possible for an acre of land.

(1) City of'~amsey purchase adjacent site. ( Ce and eDa)
(2) City of ~amsey make an exchange:
· Cross of Hope ~ill &ire the City the South 5 acres of
land (eBb). '
· City o£ ~a~sey will give Cross of Rope the ~orth parcel
of the adjacent parcel (aCe).
a in this ~ay~ the South half (aB~ amd ~Da) ~ould be
o~ned by the CiZy for the purpose of a cemetery. (10 acres)

The would have natural border with the
cemetery
tree~
and
not be so visible to the neighborhood,
2. Cross o£ ~ope intends to develop a park, ball diamond~
etc. using the adjacent p~rce! (aCe) for the community use.
The land for the cemetery (aBa and eDw) is very suitable
For developi~g a cenetery.

If there are feelings that the City should not be in the
cemetery business and believe that the private sector could
develop and maintain it ~ore economically~ would the City of
~amsey make a road using the easement on the East border oF
Cro~s of Hope parcel since this is a ~aJor expense for
developing a cemetery by the private ~ector? This would enable
.Cross of Rope to develop a cemetery for ~thJ~L~ purchase of
&rave sites. A decision ~ust be ~ade by Hay 1~ 1986~ since a
Cross of Rope needs to act on the adjacent parcel's purchase, ~'
