il <br /> <br />C~ty of Chamj~]in <br /> <br />/i <br />il <br /> I <br />II <br /> <br />iI <br /> <br />13-106 <br /> <br />13-106.! <br /> <br />pon-C~nf~rmln9 Buildings and Uses. <br /> <br />As <br /> <br />The lawful use of buildings or ]and existing at the <br />effective date of this Ordinance which docs not conform to <br />the provisions o2 this Ordinance shall be discontinued <br />within a reasonable period of a~rtizat/on of the building; <br />uses of buildings and land which become non- conform/ng by <br />reason of amendment of this Ordinance shall also be <br />discontinued within a reasonable period of amortization of <br />the building. A reasonable period of amortizat/on shall be <br />construed to begin after the date of adoption of this <br />Ordinance and shall be considered to be forty (40) years for <br />buildings of ordinary %Dod construction, fifty (50) years <br />for buildings of %~od and masonry construction, and sixty <br />(60) years for buildings of fireproof construction. <br /> <br />B$ <br /> <br />Buildings found to be non-conforming only by reason of <br />height, yard or area requirenents shall be exempt from the <br />provisions of Paragraph 13-106.1 A of this Section. <br /> <br />13-106.2 Non-conforming Si_cms. <br /> <br /> I A. Signs existing ~t the effective date of this Ordinance <br /> which do not conform to the regulatior%s set forth in this <br /> Ordinance shall beoome a non-conforming use and shall be <br />il discontinued within a reasormble period of amort/zation bf <br /> the sign; uses of signs which become a non-conforming use by <br /> reason of a subsequent change in this Ordinance shall be <br /> within a reasonable period of amortization of <br /> the sign. ~he period of amortization for signs shall be not <br /> di~:;cont~.nu~d <br /> <br /> ! 1.Advert/sing Signs - Five (5) years from the effective <br /> date of this Ordinance. <br /> <br /> erection or five (5) years from the effective date <br />~_ I 2.
