MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Diana Lund, Finance Officer <br /> <br />DATE: July 27, 2004 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Approval to Operate a Raffle <br /> <br />The attached application is from Turn In Poachers for exemPtion from a lawful' gambling license <br />to hold a raffle on August 15, 2004, at the Game Fair. City approval/denial is necessary under <br />the State Statues. Turn In Poachers meets all of the requirements which allows them to remain <br />exempt from licensing, primarily from the standpoint that the commodities to be raffled are <br />valued at less than $12,000. <br /> <br />Approval requires nothing more than a motion folloxved by a letter to the Gambling Control <br />Board, while if the request is denied, a formal resolution for denial would need to be prepared <br />and submitted to the Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br /> <br />
