ACTION PLAN <br />PUBLIC SAFETY <br /> <br />Early warning system for storms, major catastrophes and civil defense. <br /> <br />Notification of impending hazardous weather and other catastrophes is s public <br />effort which has become common to urban and some rural areas. Director <br /> <br />OBJBCTIVE: <br /> <br />1) Evaluate types of early warning systems currently in use in cities of <br /> similar geography to Ramsey's. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Determine what system would best work for Ramsey and the cost for <br />complete coverage of the city. <br /> <br />3) Determine an acquisition plan and timetable. <br /> <br />4) Determine funding needs and sources. <br /> <br />ACTION: Report to the Council with findings and recommendation on the need <br />for a warning system.
