One contract and one intern. <br /> <br />2) Major Capital Outlay Schedule <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler explained the Public Works Equipment Purchase <br />Plan (Exhibit "B"). The grader is the only piece of equipment that can "power down" to scrape <br />ice. He then explained the Fire Department Equipment Purchase Plan (Exhibit "C"): New <br />Engine #3 (for the second fire station); currently the City has one Class A pumper (750 gallons <br />per minute). <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen wondered if we should consider a different way to fund capital <br />items that have a 15-year life. <br /> <br />Police Chief Gustafson explained the Police Equipment Purchase Plan (Exhibit "D"). <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec wondered if it would be better to stagger patrol car purchases instead of buying all <br />of them every other year. <br /> <br />3) 1999 Budget Additions/Deletions <br /> <br />Mr. Norman introduced Finance Officer Lund and turned this portion of the meeting over to her. <br />Notes are made directly on the Budget Additions/Deletions handout (Exhibit "E"). <br /> <br />Mr. Norman is to talk to Kennedy & Graven about how to finance parkland (p.4 - <br />4510.101.452). <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec suggested using excess revenue year-end transfer. <br /> <br />Bottom line - deleted $97,000 - but not enough to balance budget. <br /> <br />Page 5 - Mr. Norman explained what he's recommending to be funded from excess revenue <br />funds. <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen asked where the money for the 25-year celebration is. <br /> <br />Ms. Lund responded there is $10,000 in the budget. <br /> <br />City Council Budget Work Session/August 17, 1998 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
