definitely a problem because of a steep bank -- although pedestrian
access is possible. Because of its location to ?tort Brook, and
because it lies in a picturesque part of Ramsey, consideration should
be given to making this a possible nature preservation area.

Trott Brook Estates SPECIAL USE LINEAR

This site has been acquired so that in the future it can be linked with
a trail system along lrott Brook and there is a portion of high ground
which could possibly be used as a picnic/resting area but is not
designed for high volumn traffic, but rather, intended to be used
primarly by nearby property owners.

. Dakridge Estates SPECIAL USE LINEAR

This park contains 31.74 acres and has been acquired so that in the
future it can be linked with a trail system along Trott Brook and
high ground has been provided along County Road 83 for future parking.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT

Landfill Park

COMMUNITY PARK

This 160 acre site will be turned over to the City when the present
lease is terminated for the purpose of developing a large con~nunity
or regional recreation site. The site location and access are good.
Dumping at this site will continue for some time however.

proposal

A trust fund has been established for the revenue from the Landfill
operation. These monies will be used to develop the site for such
activities as skiing, sliding, skating, softball, baseball and all
other seasonal recreational activities. Part of the site is being
used as a sliding hill at the present time. This area will serve
as a buffer zone between the industrial area to the south and the
residential area to the north.

County Recreational Center

The City also has acquired 63.4 acres of land in the southeast corner
of the City adjoining the Rum River. Part of this land will provide
access for the proposed Rum River bridge crossing. The remaining land
will be considered for a possible community and recreation area --
possibly to include an ice arena, indoor swin~ning, plus a senior
citizen and day-care facility. The County is applying for a UDAG
Grant with the anticipation of designing a structure using solar
energy.

21
