Members Present: Mayor Gary Bellman Councilmember Jean Schlueter Councilmember Gary Reimarm Councilmember Arnie COx Councilmember A1 Sorteberg Also Present: City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle City Attorney William Goodrich Director Of Technical Services Clayton Berg City Engineer Peter Raatikka Reporter Angela Flint Mayor Heitman called the regular Council meeting to order at 7:32 p.m. and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. John Lichter - 14060 Fluorine - Referred to an informal public meeting held on February 6, 1985 regarding proposed storm sewer assessments for Watershed District ~43 and at that time City Staff stated they would research alternative methods of assessing. Mr. Berg - Stated that City Staff did research alternative assessing methods and are not recommending a change from what was proposed. John Lichter - Stated that at the public meeting there was some discussion regarding the City picking up a share of the storm sewer project oost since it is in the City's best interest to have Flintwood II develop and Flintwood II requires storm sewer in order to develop. Mr. Lichter stated that residents in Flintwood I feel they are receiving a disproportionate share of the assessment in comparison to benefit gained. Mayor Heitman stated that Mr. Stan Data, a resident of Flintwood I, has identified an alternative method for assessing the storm sewer project, but that alternative has to be officially presented to Council in order for it to be oonsidered. Councilmember Cox requested an explanation of Mr. Data's idea. February 26, 1985 Page 6 of 26
