Legislative Subcommittee <br />b. Economic and Finance Subcommittee <br /> <br />CASE #2: REVIE~...~JNCTIONS OF ECONOMIC AND FINANCE SUBCOMMI~I~E <br /> <br />In addition to being an advisory commission to the <br />Ramsey City Council, another function of the EDC is <br />to pursue economic develoi~nent activities in the commu- <br />nity. These activities could include but are not <br />limited to: <br /> <br />- conducting site visits with existing businesses <br /> to determine their needs and concerns; <br />- meet with prospective developers and provide <br /> information as needed <br />- solicit conmm~rcial and/or industrial developers <br /> if necessary <br /> <br />The Economic Development Commission as a whole is too <br />large a group to effectively and efficiently undertake <br />these activities. A subcommittee of the Commission may <br />be a more manageable group to deal with these activities. <br /> <br />CASE #3: UPDATE ,.ON PROMOTIONAL BROCHURE <br /> <br />Bids for the promotional brochure have been advertised; <br />bids will be opened at 4:00 p.m., April 18, 1985. The <br />Council will award the bid at its April 23, 1985 <br />meeting. <br /> <br />CASE #4: INFORM%TION IM: FILLIN(; .STEP~F,N,~CHMIDT'S POSITIQN <br /> ON THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> <br />Due to the requirements of the City Charter, Stephen <br />Schmidt's position on the EDC cannot be filled until <br />notice for his position has been published in the <br />City's official newpaper. Such notice is in the next <br />official newspaper (scheduled to oome out in mid-May). <br /> <br /> <br />
