Success for BIPAC
Candidates Sets Good
Foundation forMACI
Policy Positions

By an), standard, MACI-BIPAC endorsed
candidates won a combined landslide
victor)' on November 6th -- 79 wins out of 92
endorsements! Clearly, Minnesota voters
(like vo~ers throughout the country) want
the economic recovery to continue, and the5'
want taxes and spending reduced. Virtually
all winners, IR and DFbers alike, campaigned
effectively on economic issues. Now, leaders
of the new IR.controlled House and DFL-
controlled Senate must work to minimize
partisan, differences and enhance a job-
producing competitive environment for Min-
nesota businesses.
The legislative polio' positions reprinted
in this special issue of Minnesota's Bus'i-
ness were approved by MACI's Board of
Directors after months of work by MACI
staffers, who met and consulted with busi-
ness people throughout Minnesota during
the summer and fall. Like the BIPAC endorse-
merits, MACI's policy positions represent the
collective judgment of a great many people
with varying business and political back-
grounds, all of whom are committed to better
public polic-), for Minnesota.

BI' Win Borden
Come JanuasT, MAC1 lobbiests will go to
the Capitol reack., to work 18 hours a day and
more to turn these proposals into realities.
But the3, can't succeed without your help. So
between now and the beginning of the new
legislative session, make it a point to meet
with your senator and your representative.
Explain how the policy changes we seekwill
affect your business. Then stay in touch. Fol-
low the issues in MACI publications and with
local media, And hopefully by early next
summer, we will have been as successful at
legislating good laws as BIPAC has just been
in electing good people!

C .E ,L.E ,B .R ,A .T ,E
MI NNE$OTA

AT MACI'S

1985 Legislative Reception

Tuesday, January 8, 1985
Radisson Hotel
Kellogg and Wabasha
Downtown St. Paul

Watch.[or your invitatior~ in the mail
or contact Alice Negratti at (612) 292-4650
for more information.

S~ER 1984
(Oct 31 -- No-,,. 30)

Fred Boos
CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD

Win Borden
PRESIDENT

MA, Cl.
