'Education,, . <br /> ! <br /> I::LI=MI::NTARY ,rid SECONDARY <br /> [ Ramsey is within the Anoka-Hennepin Independent District <br /> #11, which is the third largest school district in the state of <br /> [ Minnesota. The district boasts an enrollment of <br /> [ approximately 33,000 students from kindergarten through <br /> post-high school. <br /> <br />University of Minnesota <br />The University of Minnesota is <br />located about 25 miles from the <br />City of Ramsey. It is one of the <br />largest universities in the nalion, <br />and enrolls 0Vb~:'zlO,000 full-time --' ~' * :-* ' ~ .... - .... "~ '~.~;~-----':' '~ ~-'~" <br />students. There are more than <br />25 divisions within the university <br />offering both graduate and <br />undergraduate degrees. The <br />university has campuses in <br />both Minneapolis and St. Paul. <br /> <br />Anoka-Ramsey Community College <br />The Anoka Ramsey Community College is <br />located abOUt three miles from the City of <br />Ramsey. It operates as one of 18 public <br />community colleges of about 2,000 full-time <br />students. Facilities include 8 air-conditioned <br />buildings housing everything from Art, Music, <br />Humanities, a Media Center, and Science. The <br />college offers an Associate in Arts degree, <br />transfer courses to four year institutions and <br />vocational programs. The vocational programs <br />currently offered are in business, engineering, <br />nursing and office education. <br /> <br />Anoka Area Vocational Institute <br />The AVTI is located on the southern border of <br />Ramsey along Highway 10. Since 1967, the <br />AVTI has been serving the employment needs <br />of business and industry by providing people <br />with a diverse curriculum of 45 full-time career <br />programs and numerous adult extension <br />programs. In addition to the main campus, the <br />AVTI also has separate campuses for aviation, <br />agri-business, and horticulture programs. The <br />aviation campus is located north of the main <br />campus at the Gateway Industrial Airport in <br />Ramsey. It is the only fully accredited aviation <br />program offered by an aviation technical <br />institute in the United States. <br /> <br /> <br />
