I::LI=MI::NTARY ,rid SECONDARY [ Ramsey is within the Anoka-Hennepin Independent District #11, which is the third largest school district in the state of [ Minnesota. The district boasts an enrollment of [ approximately 33,000 students from kindergarten through post-high school. University of Minnesota The University of Minnesota is located about 25 miles from the City of Ramsey. It is one of the largest universities in the nalion, and enrolls 0Vb~:'zlO,000 full-time --' ~' * :-* ' ~ .... - .... "~ '~.~;~-----':' '~ ~-'~" students. There are more than 25 divisions within the university offering both graduate and undergraduate degrees. The university has campuses in both Minneapolis and St. Paul. Anoka-Ramsey Community College The Anoka Ramsey Community College is located abOUt three miles from the City of Ramsey. It operates as one of 18 public community colleges of about 2,000 full-time students. Facilities include 8 air-conditioned buildings housing everything from Art, Music, Humanities, a Media Center, and Science. The college offers an Associate in Arts degree, transfer courses to four year institutions and vocational programs. The vocational programs currently offered are in business, engineering, nursing and office education. Anoka Area Vocational Institute The AVTI is located on the southern border of Ramsey along Highway 10. Since 1967, the AVTI has been serving the employment needs of business and industry by providing people with a diverse curriculum of 45 full-time career programs and numerous adult extension programs. In addition to the main campus, the AVTI also has separate campuses for aviation, agri-business, and horticulture programs. The aviation campus is located north of the main campus at the Gateway Industrial Airport in Ramsey. It is the only fully accredited aviation program offered by an aviation technical institute in the United States.
