They were asked to provide their perceptions on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunilies and threats of the County as they apply to economic development. Following is a tabulation of the response. Diversified workforce. 3. f:teverse traffic situation. (Many people traveling from south to north in evening providing retail opportunities along major roadways.) New economic development initiatives. 5. Exislence of Anoka Vocational Technical Institute (access to and as resource for business). 6. Geographically located central to both downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul. 7. Growing population. 8. Large population with good average family income (means purchasing power). 9. Availability of Anoko Ramsey Community College. 10. Existence of two good hospitals. I. Exceptional park and recreation system. 2. Superior educational syslem. 3. More house for the money. Housing diversity (any price range or style). 5. Access to recreational northland (just a little closer). 6. Proximity to metro area, short travel time to both downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. 17. Good linkage among community service groups (social service~ job placement~ etc.).
