Motion by Councilme~ber (bx and seoonded by Councilmmber Sorteberg authorizing the Finance Officer to refund Mr. Sauter the balance r~aining in the $1000 cash deposit he was required to make with the City in regards to his conditional use permit for grading with the uaderstanding that Mr. Sauter will be billed for any future costs incurred in the a~inistering of the permit. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilm~bers Sorteberg, Cox, Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No; None. Letter Of Resignation From Mr. Lloyd Schnelle: Mr. Goodrich read Mr. Schnelle's letter of resignation. Council unanimously consented to dispense with the reading of the resolution. Mayor Heitman inquired if the Acoounting Clerk's oomputation of comp, sick and vacation time due Mr. Schnelle constitutes a clear and legitimate audit. Mr. Goodrich stated that fr~ a rules standpoint, the number of hours Mr. Schnelle has coming are legitimate. Based on the present staff, Ms. Johnson is the only person who could determine those figures. Mr. Sc. hnelle stated that he had originally planned on retiring this month and he is still willing to do so; it might even be more approlxiate in view of the b~o letters sutmitted by Councilm~r~er (Dx during Citizen Input. Councilm~nber fbx stated that the t~o letters Mr. Schnelle is referring to were fr~m citizens and those citizens have a right to register their o0mplaints. Mr. Schnelle stated that if the citizens feel that way, then he should retire sooner so there won't be any overstaffing at City ~all. Councilm~mber (Dx stated that Mr. Schnelle retiring this month would be appr opt i ate. Motion by Councilm~nber (Dx to adopt Resolution 985-142 accepting Mr. Schnelle's resignation and to be effective August, 1985. Motion failed for lack of a second. Gouncilma~ber Reimann stated that the time frame suggested in the proposed resolution (October) was to allc~ for certain things being accomplished before Mr. Schnelle's resignation, i.e. budget, screen replacements for the position; it should be Mr. Schnelle's decision and choice to leave earlier than that.
