A~TA(/~ A

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
OONS~UCTION OF T~IS ODURTS
IN
RAMSEY'S (]~NTRAL AND RIVER'S B~qD PARKS

The project oonsists of the construction of two double tennis
courts (110 feet by 170 feet) in two of Ramsey's parks - Central
Park and River's Bend Park. Tennis oourts have been and continue
to be high priority in park development for the Ramsey Park and
Recreation Cc~mission and to the citizens of Ramsey.

Central Park is a 45.6 acre park which was donated to the City by
the Federal Cartridge Company. This park is designated for
development as a major multi-use playfield area tennis courts.
There are presently two ball fields in the park with gravel
surfaced parking areas. The Ramsey City Council recently
authorized the purchase of bleachers for one of the di~onds. In
addition, City staff is reviewing the possibility of installing
lights in this park. The tennis courts are proposed to be
constructed in the southwest corner of the park, adjacent to one
of the parking areas.

River's Bend Park is a 63.4 acre park which borders the Rum River
and was donated to the City. In the City's Comprehensive Park and
Open Space Plan, this area is designated for develo~ent as a
community recreation area. The tennis courts are proposed to be
constructed in the northeast portion of the park, just south of
142nd Lane N.W.
