He noted the contract
included an option for a one-year extension and the current three year contract with Ace Solid
Waste, Inc. is set to expire on December 31, 2004. Councilmember
Elvig stated that Ace is interested in extending the contract for an additional year at the rate of
$1.88 per resident per month. He noted that Ace has been an integral part of the City's biannual
recycling clay events and Ace currently provides an annual donation to the City of approximately
$2,000. The Finance Committee recommends approving a one-year extension on the CUlTent
cnrbside recycling contract with Ace Solid Waste, Inc.

Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to approve a one-
year extension on the current curbside recycling contract with Ace Solid Waste, Inc.

Councihnember Zimmerman requested that City Staff notify residents of the Ace contract
renewal via the website and/or the Ramsey Resident.

Motion carried.
