Qf CDBG Funds: <br /> <br />Council unanimously oonsented to dispense with the reading of the resolution. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schlueter referred to EDC's meeting of November 14, 1984 at <br />which time they reoommended a oouple of uses for (I)BG funds, one of which <br />acquisition of industrial property. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle replied that EDC has backed off on their reoor~nendation for land <br />acquisi tion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schlueter stated that Item Il in the proposed resolution is a <br />broad statement; if EDC wants to develop along Rwy. 147, why isn't that made <br />known in the resolution? <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that EDC now wants fDBG funds put into the Economic <br />Development Company to be used to financially assist existing businesses to <br />expand and new businesses to come into the City. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schlueter stated that those plans should be stated in the <br />resolution. <br /> <br />Mr. Arnie Cox stated that the resolution is ~eeded to satisfy County <br />requirements so we don't lose those (I~ funds; the resolution is being worded <br />in broad terms so we don't lock ourselves into a specific use. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilm~mber Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />adopt Resolution ~84-241 approving the uses of H.U.D. Co~F~unity Development <br />Block Grant funds. (Please refer to resolution file for Resolution ~84-241). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilme~]bers Sorteberg, <br />Schlueter, Reimann and VanWagner.
