<br />ZONING
<br />
<br />TITLE
<br />This ordinance shall be known as the "Ramsey Zor, in9 Ordinance"
<br />except as referred to herein where it shall be knowr, as "this
<br />ordinance."
<br />
<br />PURPOSE
<br />The following zonir, g provisions and the zoning map established
<br />hereby have beer, er, acted ir, accordance with a comprehensive plan
<br />of land use for the purpose of:
<br /> - promotir, g the health, safety, morals, comfort, convenience
<br /> prosperity, and general welfare of the resider, ts of Ramsey.
<br /> - dividing the City ir, to zones or districts restricting and
<br /> regulating therein the location, erection, construction,
<br /> recor, struction, alteration, and use of buildir, gs,
<br /> structures, and land for specified uses.
<br /> - regulating the intensity of the use of land.
<br /> - regulatir, g and determining the area of open spaces sur-
<br /> rour, dir, g buildir, gs ir, order to prevent the overcrowding of
<br /> land and to assure adequate light and air.
<br /> - protecting waterways and natural resources.
<br /> - establishing buildir, g lines and the location of buildings
<br /> designed for specified industrial, commercial, residential
<br /> and other uses within such areas and fixing standards to
<br /> which buildings or structures shall conform therein.
<br /> - prohibiting usem, buildings, or structures incompatible
<br /> with the character of the specified districts.
<br /> - preventing adiitior, s to and alterations or remodeling of
<br /> existing buildings or structures in such a way as to avoid
<br /> the restrict ions and limitations imposed hereunder.
<br /> - limiting congestion ir, the public streets by providing for
<br /> off-street parking and loading and unloading of vehicles.
<br /> - pr,_-,vidir, g f,z,r the gradual elimination of non-conforming
<br /> uses of land, buildings and structures.

<br /> out the City.

<br />RELATION TO COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
<br />It is the policy of the City of Ramsey that the enforcemer, t,
<br />amer, dment and administration of this ordinance be accomplished
<br />with due cor, sideration of the recommendations contained in the
<br />Compreher, sive Plan as developed and amended from time to time by
<br />the Plar, r~ing Commissior, and City Council of the City. The
<br />Council recognizes the Comprehensive Plan as the policy adopted
<br />to regulate land use and development in accordance with the
<br />policies and purpose herein set forth.
