FIANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> S~TE OF MINNESO~ <br /> <br />~he Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public bearing on Tuesday, <br />February 5, 1985 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., <br />Ramsey, Minnesota regarding amendment to the Zoning Ordinance; Environmental <br />Protection Chapter. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Kenneth Peterson, Chairman <br />Mr. Gerald Zimmerman <br />Mr. Benjamin Deemer <br />Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br />Mr. Lee Johnson <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />City Planner Anne Norris <br /> <br />Members Absent: Dr. Duane Kennen <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson called the public hearing to order at 7:36 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that in order to comply with State law, Ramsey is required <br />to adopt an ordinance addressing sborelands, wetlands and critical areas. Mr. <br />Raatikka proceeded to review the proposed ordinance amendment with the <br />Con~nission. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer brought up for discussion the fact that he feels Ford <br />Brook, once it passes under Cty. Rd. ~63, should no longer have to be included <br />in our Environmental Protection Ordinance and Wild and Scenic Rivers <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that he would do some research regarding Ford Brook. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding this proposed ordinance stating that all non- <br />conforming sewage systems must be eliminated within 5 years; is this 5 years <br />after ordinance adoption or 5 years after City notification to all property <br />owners not in conformance? <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that he would check into this also. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that Mr. John Stein of DNR has stated that the ordinance <br />must also include that all variances to the ordinance shall only be issued <br /> February 5, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
