Revenue Sharing - <br /> <br />(This case should have been carried over from the March 26, 1985 Council <br />agenda but inadvertently was not.) <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that he is not in favor of any Federal program, but if we <br />have to keep one, this is the one to keep. <br /> <br />Council~ber Schlueter referred to the resolution proposed and stated that <br />she doesn't feel that it is appropriate to name the Federal programs that <br />Ramsey is not in favor of as scme other cities might favor those programs. <br /> <br />Councilm~mber Cox stated that Federal Revenue Sharing is one of Ramsey's <br />opportunities to get some of it's tax dollars back and it is the most <br />efficient of the Federal programs. Councilm~nber Cox stated that he would <br />like to have some oomments in the resolution regarding Ramsey being supportive <br />of the Federal Government reducing the budget and the taxing of the people; <br />with tax reduction the City could keep and designate the spending of it's ~n <br />dollars. <br /> <br />Council unanimously consented to dispense with the reading of the resolution. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilm~nber Cox and seconded by Councilm~nber Reimann to adopt <br />Resolution ~85-74 supporting the Federal revenue sharing program with Item %1 <br />to be amended in a way that will express Ramsey's opinion that tax reduction <br />is a firDt priority ite~; that if a Federal program must be preserved, <br />preserve Federal revenue sharing. (Please refer to resolution file for <br />Resolution ~85-74). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilm~m~bers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />E. Setting Minimum Standards And Assessment Procedures For Urban And Rural <br /> Areas - <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Heitman and seconded by Councilmamber Reimann to table this <br />case until the next regular or special Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor ~eitman, Councilmember Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Engineering (Continued) <br /> <br />D. Consideration Of Storm Drainage Improvements In Pineview Estates <br /> <br />Mr. Dale McKnight sukmitted a petition to Council from area residents opposing <br />the storm drainage improvement project. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilm~ber Cox and seconded by Councilme~ber Reimann to receive <br />the petition opposing Resolution %85-56 for proposed storm drainage <br /> April 9, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 9 of 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
