Traffic on 167th Avenue NW - <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that citizens have been expressing oonoern regarding <br />the high speed traffic on 167th. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seoonded by Councilmember Reimann directin9 <br />City Staff to prepare a resolution that would propose reducing the speed limit <br />on 167th Avenue N~ between F~y. ~47 and County Rd. ~5 to 40 m.p.h. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Gouncilm~mbers Sorteberg, Gox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />3. Azurite Street- <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that he is waiting for a response fr~m Bill Sironen of the <br />County Highway Department regarding the County's participation in correcting <br />the grade situation on Azurite. <br /> <br />4. May 6 Landfill Ad Hoc Committee Meeting - <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that at the May 6, 1985 ~andfill C~ttee meeting <br />there seemed to be some confusion regarding Council's direction for that <br />Committee to review the aspects of Waste Management of Minnesota's request for <br />a mining permit; that Landfill Ad Hoc Committee would like s~me clarification <br />on that Council motion. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman stated that he is conoerned that those Council minutes of April <br />16 are in error; that he doesn't know how the motion directing the Landfill <br />Oommittee to review the request for a mining permit got in those minutes. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that he recalls the discussion leading to that motion <br />as focusing on: high cost of dumping at the landfill ($25 for covered loads <br />and $50 for uncovered loads); due to the contract for the sale of the <br />landfill that Ramsey entered into, residents are spending as muc~ to d~p as <br />Ramsey is receiving in tipping fees; that in order to get a couple of free <br /> May 14, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 18 of 20 <br /> <br /> <br />
