._Off-.Sa~e Liquor License Renewal _A~plications~ oa, e Of MAL Li_ouors
And Discount 10 Liquors:

Motion by Councilms~ber COx and seconded by Oouncilmember Schlueter to approve
the application of MAL Liquors for an off-sale liquor license commencing July
1, 1985 and expiring June 30, 1986.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Oo~ncilms~bers Sorteberg, Cox,
Schlueter and Reimann. Voting No: None.

City Attorney Goodrich stated that Dtsoount 10 Liquors is delinquent in
property taxes for 1983, 1984 and 1985. Ramsey's Off-Sale Ordinance provides
that no license should be granted or renewed for properties on which taxes are
delinquent.

Oouncilm~r Schlueter and Mayor Heitman noted that they believe their is a
State ordinance to the same effect.

Motion by Mayor Heitman and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to direct the
City Attorney to advise Discount 10 Liquors of the ordinance in place and that
the off-sale license will not be renewed until the issue of delinquent property
taxes is resolved.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Oouncilm~rs Sorteberg, COx,
Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None.

Public Works:

A. Accepting_ Price Ouotes For Purchase Of Side Mounted Flail Mower For

Gouncil unanimously consented to dispense with the reading of the resolution.

Gouncilm~m~)er Reimann stated that he was under the ass~ption that the mower
and the quick coupler (quick coupler addressed in It~ B of this case) together
would be approximately $4,000; in reviewing the minutes it is learned that the
mower is in the $7,000 bracket and the quick coupler is in the $4,000 bracket.
Gouncilmember Reimann stated he does not want to spend this much for the mower
and coupler.

Councilmember Schlueter pointed out that $9500 was budgeted for the mower and
$3600 was budgeted for the coupler; the total cost of the two items is still
$1,000 less than what is budgeted.

Councilmember Cox suggested that the City look into purchasing 9ood used
equilm~=.nt and noted that Mr. Bernie Vevea has designed some quick coupler
attachments.

Mr. Mevisson stated that he did not oonsider used equilm~nt; most used
equipment on the market has been traded in because it is having problens or
worn out and Ramsey's Public Works Department does not have time to make
equipment repairs.
May 28, 1985
