Funds Available From Anoka County For IDcal Recyclin9 . Conpo_ stin9 And <br /> Waste Reduction Programs: <br /> <br />Council discussed the City beginning with a waste reduction program that would <br />focus on used motor oil collection and ccmposting. <br /> <br />Council consensus is to direct City Staff and the Landfill Ad Hoc Committee to <br />make reoommendations for a waste reduction work plan focusing on motor oil <br />collection and composting; further, to have that rec~tion available for <br />Council review at their meeting scheduled for June 25, 1985. <br /> <br />Council requested that Mr. Berg see to it that the issue of a waste reduction <br />work plan be placed on the next Landfill Ad }~oc Con~nittee meeting agenda. <br /> <br />D. Landfill Grounds R _eport For March 1985 and April 1982; <br /> <br />Mr. Berg stated that he received a call from City Engineer Raatikka on 5-30-85 <br />and the recent test results at the landfill were bad. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman stated that he received a call from Mr. Terry Miller and Mr. <br />Miller says their is contamination showing up in some of the wells on landfill <br />property. Test samples were sent to the t~o labs involved; an ~nployee at <br />Emery Air Freight took it upon herself to hold shifment of the samples until <br />after the weekend; the samples were not held in the proper enviror{nent and <br />became oontaminated; testing must be redone. That testing has been redone and <br />the results should be back soon. <br /> <br />Oouncil consensus is to address the problem when it is known for sure that <br />there is a problem. <br /> <br />E. Receipt Of Certain Revenues In Regards To T~dfill: <br /> <br />Oouncil noted the following: <br /> <br />1) Letter dated May 17, 1985 from Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc. <br /> transmitting the City of Ramsey's monthly layment for March 1985. <br /> <br />2) Mixed municipal solid waste fee monthly report for April 1985. <br /> <br />(buncil recessed at 8:25 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman called the special Council meeting back to order at 8:34 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Unfinished Business From 5-28-85 ~nenda (Continued) <br /> May 30, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 7 of 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
