PROfEEDINGS OF CITY OOUNCIL <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA (DUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on Tuesday, June 25, <br />1985 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gary Heitman <br />Councilmember A1 Sorteberg <br />Councilmenber Jean Schlueter <br />Councilmember Arnie Cox <br />Councilmember Gary Reimann (arrived at 7:40 p.m.) <br /> <br />City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle <br />Director of Technical Services Clayton Berg <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />City Planner Anne Norris <br />City Acoountant Jeanne Haapala <br />Reporter Angela Flint <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman called the regular Council meeting to order at 7:39 p.m. and led <br />in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />Susan Beale - 14851 Sunfish Lake Blvd - Requested that Council send a <br />representative to the Legislative Commission on Waste Management meeting <br />scheduled for June 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the State office building to discuss PCA <br />rules for financial responsibility. Susan Beale also stated that <br />Councilmembers Reimann and Cox are always harping about goverr~nent spending and <br />yet they called a special Council meeting on June 19 to address a boat raffle <br />issue. Ms. Beales stated that when she confronted Councilmenber Reimann <br />regarding the special meeting, he told her that City Staff messed up; the item <br />was supposed to have been included on a previous Council agenda and that Mr. <br />Clayton Berg had admitted Staff's error. Ms. Beale noted that the Lions' <br />gambling license application specifies 'pull tabs'; was the license application <br />a one-time deal for the raffle or is it an on-going gambling license; what was <br />the outcome of the special (buncil meeting? <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that he was informed by Mr. Berg that Councilmembers Cox <br />and Reimann called for a special (buncil meeting; according to the Charter, two <br />m~rs of Oouncil can call a special meeting. Mr. Schnelle also stated that <br />due to the nature of his workload at the time, he did not pay too much <br />attention to the issue other than that the special meeting was in acoordance <br />with the Charter. <br /> <br />June 25, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 5 of 23 <br /> <br /> <br />
