CASE # ~.~ <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br />REQUEST FOR A HOME OCCUPATION PERMIT; <br />CASE OF BRETTON GATES <br /> By: Amy Geisler, Associate Planner <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City has received an application from Bretton Gates for a home occupation permit, to <br />establish a clock repair business in his home on the property located at 8340 154th Lane NW. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) <br />b) <br />c) <br />d) <br />e) <br /> <br />Site location map <br />Business description by resident <br />Principal dwelling layout <br />Proposed Findings of Fact <br />proposed Home Occupation Permit <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />In accordance with State statute, Staff notified property owners within 350 'feet of the subject <br />property of the public hearing. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The applicant is proposing to establish a one-person clock repair business in his home: City Code <br />restricts home occupations to 20% of the gross floor area-of the home. The two rooms in which <br />the home occupation will take place are a total of 456 square feet, which is 19% of the principal <br />dwelling floor area. The applicant's parcel is just under an acre in size, and is surrounded by <br />similarly-sized parcels. <br /> <br />The applicant and his immediate family will be the only employees; they expect to receive, a <br />maximum of 2-3 clients per day or about 12-18 clients per week. Vehicular traffic trips are not to <br />exceed 2 trips per hour per standard business day or 16 trips within a24 hour period. Hours of <br />operation would be Monday through Friday 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM, and 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM on <br />Saturdays. The applicant will not be engaged in retail sales of any kind. The applicant can <br />accommodate client parking in the driveway. <br /> <br />The City has issued similar home occuPation permits in the past. <br /> <br /> <br />
