A special meeting of the Re~psey City (b~cLl was held on Tuesday, September 17, <br />1985 at the Ramsey Municipel ~enter, 15153 No, then Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, <br /> <br />~b~r. ~esent: <br /> <br />Mm]or Gary Heitman <br />(b~cilme~ber A1 ~r~rg <br /> <br />~c~~r ~e ~x. <br /> <br />Director of Technical Services Clayton Berg <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />Reporter Angela Flint <br /> <br />Mayor Beit~an called the special (b~cil meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. and led <br />in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Mrs. Peterson - 7351 151st Avenue - Stated that ~e is having excessive water <br />drainage probl~s at her home and inquired as to what the City is going to do <br />about it. Stated that t~o years ago the City put in drains to relieve a <br />problem on 152nd and now her area is flooding. Stated she is in favor of a <br />permanent solution, storm sewers, and being assessed for it. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman stated that Mrs. Peterson can initiate a petition requesting the <br />installation of storm sewer; the City will then conduct a feasibility study; a <br />public hearing would be called and all affected residents would be notified; if <br />a majority of the affected properties agree to a drainage syst~ and being <br />assessed for it, the syste~ will be installed. ~his p~ooess takes time, there <br />are Charter require~ents that have to be followed; construction would probably <br />not begin ~t_{] the spring of 1986. <br /> <br />Mrs. Peterson inquired as to how long it will be before sewer and water come to <br />her area. <br /> <br />Mr. Berg replied that sewer and water is not projected for the area in which <br />Mrs. Peterson lives. Mr. Berg stated that what Mrs. Peterson is seeing is the <br />actual gro~d~ater level; millions of gallons of water would have to be pu~ped <br />from the area in order to begin to alleviate the problem. <br /> <br />Kris Bancroft - 7431 151st Avenue - Stated she has a pu~p at her ~ p~ping <br />12 gallons every 20 seconds and the water vac consumes 10 gallons every 30 <br /> September 17, 1985 <br /> <br />~ge 3 of 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
