December 11, 1984

Mr. Lloyd Schnelle, City Admin.
City of Ramsey
15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W.
Ramsey, MN 55303

Re: Water Meter Quotes

Dear Lloyd:

We have reviewed the price quotes received on November 26,
quotes were as follows:

Bidder

Meter Type

Water Products Co.
Water Products Co.
Davies Water Equip. Co.
North Star Waterworks Products
Badger Meter, Inc.

Rockwell "TTR"
Rockwell 'ECR"
Neptune "T-10"
Badger Model 25
Badger Model 25

1984. The

Price

$6,550.00
$7,540.00
$6,657.00
$5,683.00
$5,340.00

Of the above quotes, the Badger Model 25 did not have electronic
reading or automatic recording capabilities. Also, the Rockwell "TTR"
was not a digital output meter as required in the specification.
Therefore, only the Rockwell "ECR" and the Neptune 'T-10" met the
specifications as written. The "ECR" is a new system and we are not
aware of any that are currently installed. Also, the delivery time on
the "ECR" is 60 days versus 30 days on the Neptune "T-10m.
In review of the Neptune "T-10", we contacted Brooklyn Park, Andover
and Champlin who are currently using the Neptune "T-10" meters. They
all stated they were happy with the meters and had very little trouble
if any with the meters. One of the benefits of a Neptune T-10 auto-
matic reading and billing system is that you can wire in your own
account number. On the Rockwell 'ECR", the account number is preset
at the factory.
