TRANSPOR~TION <br /> <br />Ramsey has ovmplete air service available from Minneapolis-St. <br />Paul International Airport which is located approximately 25 <br />miles from Ramsey. ~he airport provides passenger flights to all <br />major cities in the U.S. It is also the borne of Northwest Orient <br />Airlines, Inc. and Republic Airlines. <br /> <br />Anoka County AirrDrt <br />~]~e Anoka C~unty Airport if located 10 miles east of Ramsey. ~e <br />airport has two surfaced runways approaching one mile in length. <br />It has approved FHA instr%r~ent approach procedures, landing <br />aides, and a oontrol tower. ~he airport is served by four <br />oo~ercial operations providing excellent flight service. 50 <br />hangar buildings are located at the airport site for industrial <br />and private aircraft. Air taxi service and flight instruction <br />are also available. <br /> <br />Gateway Industrial Airnort <br />Gateway Indust~al Airport is located in the City of Ramsey. ~is <br />privately owned airport is open to the public and services the <br />irmmediate industrial area. Located at the airport are vocational <br />school buildings which house the aviation programs offered at the <br />Anoka Vocational Technical Institute. <br /> <br />Burlington Northern's main line serves the City's industrial <br />areas which are zoned for all types of industrial uses. Rail <br />service is provided daily with an average frequency of 38 to 50 <br />trains per day. <br /> <br />Ramsey is located on U.S. l~ighway 10 which is constructed to <br />Interstate Highway standards. It is just 10 minutes north of <br />Interstate 94 which is part of the Interstate Freeway Syst~. A <br />1982 study by the Minnesota Department of Transportation <br />estimated the daily traffic county through Ramsey on l~ighwa¥ 10 <br />at about 23,000 cars daily.
