Council Est. 10,860 1980 10,091 1970 2,546 BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY Although the City of Ramsey is primarily residential with many of its residents working in the Twin Cities area, local industries and busi- nesses provide 20% of the total assessed value of the City. Electronic assembly 177 50 40 20 A privately owned 320 acre industrial park located in the City has natural gas, electrical power, major trunk highway and direct railroad service. A major Anoka County highway runs adjacent to the Industrial Park. Anoka County has prepared a project development report for a bridge crossing the Rum River which bridge would also provide a direct line to the Industrial Park. Construction of such a bridge will give the entire City an access to a Highway #10 interchange without a railroad crossing. LABOR FORCE STATISTICS The most recent unemployment statistics for December, 1984, show Anoka County with a 5.2% unemployment rate and a total labor force of 118,515. The State of Minnesota had a 6.8% unemployment rate for the same period. Table 14 presents the average annual unemployment rates for Anoka County and for the State of Minnesota for the years 1979 through 1983. MN220.85a/35 13
