Rules parts 7005.0700 to 7005.0820 entitled <br />Open Burning Restrictions and Permitting Requirements (copy <br />enclosed). When acceptinG applications for open burning, it is <br />important to remember that all open burning is banned except for <br />those purposes listed in Part 7005.0750. If an application is <br />submitted for one of these purposes, the Division of Air Quality <br />will issue a permit providinG the restrictions listed in Part <br />7005.0750, subpart 2, can be met. Please note the application <br />form requires the applicant to state the distance in feet from <br />the point of the fire to the nearest neighbor. Open burninG <br />materials pursuant to Part 7005.0740 subpart 1, Items E through <br />J, requires a minimum distance of 600 ft. Permit applications <br />which are submitted for the purpose of disposinG of leaves or <br />other brush will not be approved. <br /> <br />Permits are Generally given for only a 30 day period. Prior to <br />submitting the application to the MPCA, please screen the <br />application to see that it is completed properly, that the <br />purpose for the burn is thoroughly defined (other than word for <br />word as cited in the rule) and that the site is inspected and a <br />fire authority signs off on the application.
