I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />PLANNING AND ZONING ODMMISSI ON <br />~3BLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA C~UNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Cc~ssion oonducted a public bearing on <br />Tuesday, April 2, 1985 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 No, then Blvd. <br />N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Mr. Joe Nyara's request for a oonditional <br />use permit to operate a beauty shop in his home. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Kenneth Peterson, Chairman <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br />Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br />Mr. Lee Johnson <br />Mr. Benjamin Deamer <br />Mr. Gerald Zin~nerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Planner Anne Norris <br /> <br />Members Absent: Dr. Duane Kennen <br /> <br />C?~T.T, ~ <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson called the public hearing to order at 7:31 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Mr. Nyara was present and stated that his wife's h~ne co~notolocjy business <br />would be a part time operation. <br /> <br />Mr. John Ahlquist -15561 Erkium - Inquired if there will be a separate <br />building constructed on the Ahlquist property for the beauty shop. <br /> <br />Mr. Nyara replied that the beauty shop will be in the basement of the hcme; <br />the Nyara's have tentative plans to put an addition on the ]~xne for extra <br />bedroom space and the beauty shop would then be in the basement under the new <br />addition. <br /> <br />Mr. Ahlquist stated that he feels strongly that government has no business <br />controlling what a person does in their home and supports the Nyara's in their <br />efforts. Mr. Ahlquist stated that he does two concerns: that the Nyara's <br />would find it necessary to hire additional employees and the placement of an <br />advertising sign in the yard. <br /> <br />Mr. Nyara replied that he also does not care for the looks of a business sign <br />in a residential neighborhood. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer stated that City Ordinance allows a sign not to exceed 2 <br />square feet. <br /> April 2, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
