PL/LNNING AND ZONIAE fDMMISSIC~ <br />~3BLI C HEARING <br /> C~TY OF RAMS5%' <br /> ANOKA C[~TCfY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission oonducted a public hearing on <br />Tuesday, April 2, 1985 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nc~then Blvd. <br />N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Mr. Bud Sauter's request for a oonditional <br />use permit to mine fill. <br /> <br />M~nbers Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Kenneth Peterson, Chairman <br />Mr. Gerald Zinm~rman <br />Mr. Benjamin Deemer <br />Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br />Mr. Lee Johnson <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Planner Anne Norris <br /> <br />Members Absent: Dr. Duane Kennen <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson called the public hearing to order at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Bud Sauter was present and submitted copies of a grading plan for his <br />property located at the northeast oorner of the intersection of Industry <br />Avenue and Sunfish Lake Blvd. <br /> <br />John Heinen - 6370 143rd Lane - Stated that the term 'mining' is deceiving as <br />Mr. Sauter's plan seems to be more in the way of grading. -Mr. Heinen stated <br />his Lots 8 and 9 would derive a drainage benefit from Mr. Sauter's grading <br />process and he is supportive of it. Mr. }]einen stated that he would like to <br />see the City require a buffer of trees. <br /> <br />Mr. Sauter replied that one of the City Engineer's stipulations is a buffer of <br />trees and the firm of Blackdog Landscape Builders has been engaged to plant a <br />row of evergreens along the north side of the property by April 20. <br /> <br />Mr. Sauter referred to erosion concerns and stated that it is planned to <br />return some of the property back to agriculture use as grading proceeds; in <br />the mining areas, the topsoil will be returned and seeded. <br /> April 2, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
