I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

November 8, 1984

Clayton R. Berg
Building Inspector
Administrative Offices
City of Ramsey
15153 NW Nowthen Boulevard
Ramsey, MN 55303

Dear Mr. Berg:

We live at 6320 163rd Lane NW, lot 2, block 4 of Menkveld's Country Park,
Ramsey, Minnesota. The subject of this letter is lot 3, block 4, property
adjoining ours directly to the east and owned by Gene and Margaret Kellogg,
6290 163rd Lane NW, lot 4, block 4.

Lot 3 carries on it a drainage easement which also is immediately to the
east and boarders on our property. The Kelloggs are seeking to have the
city vacate this drainage easement.

The easement is apparently on the lowest spot of Menkveld's Country Park
and we presume exists for the good of the public to provide for collection
of water runoff.

Amy alteration to the current law of the land, on which the easement is
located, by change of contour or elevation, could affect the drainage
properties of the land and divert water to our land. Our drain field
and garden would be affected or possibly rendered useless. This is our
concern.

We have no objection to the easement being vacated, provided the city
guarantee, in writing, that the land will not be altered, causing the
above-mentioned situation. In other words, we should be provided the
same safeguards we enjoy under the protection of the easement. This
would then provide us an avenue of recourse in the future, if needed.

We ask that this letter be included in the minutes of your next official
discussion on this matter.

Sincerely,

Beverly J. St4

lnhauser

David J. ~teinhauser
Homeowner~, 6320 163rd Lane NW,
Ramsey, MN

cc: Gene and Margaret Kellogg
