RYLMSEY SCHOOL.ADVISORY CO~{CIL <br /> Minutes <br /> April 16, 1985 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by our chairperson, Greg Scherer, at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> <br />ANI~OUNCEMENTS: <br /> <br />Greg Scherer, Wendy Studer, Paul Reifenberger, Claudia Dodge, <br />Kathleen Sekhon, Kathi Peterson, Geri Welsch, Kathy Warner, <br />Dorothy Stadfelt and Bea Brown. <br /> <br />Alice Rasmussen <br /> <br />1) A thankyou note was received from Steve Onstad. <br />2) Gall Hennek sent the Advisory Council a thank you note <br /> for the gift of flowers. <br /> <br />Claudia asked for assistance in writing up a grant for <br />"Artist in Resident", Geri will help. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />ELECTION OF OFFICERS: <br /> <br /> A motion was made and seconded to have a rotating secretary. Motion was <br />discussed. The motion was withdrawn. A motion was made and seconded to post- <br />pone elections until fall. Motion was approved. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Sub-Committees: Program and Finance Committee passed around a rough draft to <br />be studied. Was suggested to check with the absent members to see if there would <br />be interest to attend Maddin's Resort. This committee will meet after Fun Day <br />and report in May. TIxe Community Involvement and the Volunteer Committees met <br />and will also report in May. <br /> <br />TREASL~ER'S REPORT: There was reported a balance of $1,760.07. <br /> <br />DAY SCHOOL REPORT: 1) Ramsey School celebrated National Library Week by <br /> <br />1) Ramsey School celebrated National Library Week by having silent reading <br /> for 10 minutes each day at a designated time. It was "WEIRD", (we enjoy <br /> individual reading daily). <br />2) April 22, the InTec Van will be at Ramsey School all day. Ail children will <br /> have an opportunity to go through it. <br />3) May 21, Fourth Grade spring Music Program <br />4) May 13 - Russel Packard (musician) will be at Ramsey School the whole week. <br /> Cost- $750.00. <br />5) The School Board is very receptive for Ramsey School to get a program such <br /> as Latch Key. <br />6) May 10, Grandparent's Day. <br />7) "Child Study Team" This consists of a group of staff members who meet once <br /> a week to "identify" children with learning problems. Once a child is <br /> identified as have a problem, with the parents consent, there are several <br /> steps followed. Paul went through all the steps that are taken in this <br /> procedure with us. Approximately 55 children are in the program at Ramsey <br /> School. Paul was thanked for all his work in preparing this report. <br /> <br /> <br />
