I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I May 23, 1985 T0~ City Administrator FR0~: City Planner RE: Monthly Staff Report Economic Development Commission: The EDC is working with the Planning and Zoning Commission on commercial and industrial zoning regulations and requirements to be included in the recodification of the zoning ordinance. The EDC is working on final text ar~ photos for its promotional brochure to submit to the p~inter. Tax Increment Financing: As you know, I have been working with Arlin Waelti, Bond Counsel and Don Keysser, fiscal consultant on preparing information for a tax increment plan for the City. The schedule for the tax increment plan is for the City Council to set a public hearing for July 9, 1985 at its meeting on May 28. Copies of the plan will be distributed to the County and School District after City Council sets the public hearing date. Planning and Zoning Commission: P & Z are continuing their review of the recodification of the zoning ordinance. As I mentioned earlier, they are working with the EDC on the oommercial and industrial portions of the ordinance. Other: I have also been working with the developers of the West Oaks planned unit develoI~ent for the General Mills property. The developers are withdrawing their original site plan and are sukmitting an amer~ site plan which proposes the development of 41 single family residential lots in the northwest corner of the property with the remainder of the P.U.D. being platted as one outlot. As you know, construction of the Rum River Kills golf course has started; the official groundbreaking for this is scheduled for May 30, 1985.
