It has been determined that it is technically feasible to <br />put a facility in at Gateway North that would qualify for Federal and State <br />funding and within the next couple of months, a public hearing will be <br />oonducted regarding the Airport Master Plan. <br /> <br />Mr. Merland Otto proceeded to review in brief what has been acoomplished in the <br />Airport Master Plan thus far. <br /> <br />Ai _rport Master Plan Process - In all, there are about 73 steps that a <br />co~unity goes through in order to even begin on facility construction; Ramsey <br />has begun to address three of those steps. <br /> <br />Gatewa_v Role In Metro Area- Mr. Otto presented an overview depicting the 7 <br />county Metro area system plan for which the Metropolitan Airport Om~ission is <br />the operating agency. Gateway North, Forest Lake, Benson and Northport are the <br />only privately owned, publicly used facilities in the region; Benson cannot <br />meet State criteria and is expected to drop out of the system; Gateway, Forest <br />Lake and Northport are minor airports. <br /> <br />Forecast Data - After improvements, it is anticipated that Gateway will <br /> May ~, 1985 <br /> <br /> Page 1 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
