I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I TO~ City Administrator/Clerk FROR: Deputy Clerk 1~: Zoning Violation - 15327 Eland Street DATE: Rovember 3, 1983 As per your request on October 31, 1983~ ! viewed the above referenced property in regards to an alleged violation of Mr. Tom Auel selling fire wood from his home and people living in a fifth wheel ~arked in his lot. I spoke to Mrs. Auel who stated they were in no way selling the fire wood as they were installing a wood burning stove and would need all that wood to keep their house warm this winter. The sign placed on Armstrong Blvd. stating there was black dirt, etc. for sale was placed there as a favor to a friend and was in no way connected with his sod business. Mrs. Auel also stated to~e that an aunt and uncle have been visiting them for above five weeks and had been staying in the fifth wheel. It was not connected to a sewer system. -She stated tome they were taking care of maintaining it during their stay and would be leaving in about a week or so. In no way would t hey be there during the winter~onths. I have sent Mr. and Mrs. Auel a building permit application for their wood burning stove to bring them into compliance. The neighbor next door also has a sign in her yard on Armstrong Blvd. for day care center. I have also sent her an application for signpermit as she did not obtain this at the time she installed her sign two years ago. It would appear to me that Mr. and Ers. Auel are trying their best to maintain their property in a neat and orderly fashion and what he spoke to the Council about was in fact true. A neighborhood feud is in the ~king and the City should not be getting involved other than bringing everyone into compliance with the City Code. ~B
