be~. intr uc d the following resolution and moved for <br /> <br />its <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, paragraph 10.09131 of the City Code sets the policy for City <br />~ployees to attend continuing education courses; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council Personnel Omm~ttee stated at their meeting of <br />December 21, 1981 that seminar approval would be authorized by the City <br />Administrator; and <br /> <br /> W~FREAS, the City Administrator has approved of all seminars that <br />City Staff has attended; and <br /> <br /> W~FRFAS, the attendance at all seminars, schools, etc. are contained <br />in the budget that must be approved by the Council when they adopt the annual <br />budget. <br /> <br />NG~ ~EREFORE, BE IT ~VED BY ~NE CITY (DUNCIL OF ~E CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA <br />GOONTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) Any ~mployee desiring to enroll in a continuing education course <br />must have Council approval, as required by paragraph 10.09131 of the City Code. <br /> <br /> 2) The City Administrator will have the authority to grant approval <br />to employees to attend seminars under the following conditions: <br /> <br />a) If the seminar is a direct benefit to the City of Ramsey; <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />If the seminar has adequate funding provided for in the <br />budget to defray the cost for the attendance at said <br /> <br />c) If the seminar is being conducted within the State of <br /> <br /> 3) The City Council will have to approve of all seminars that are <br />conducted outside the State of Minnesota. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilm~ber . /~a~d upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the _~me: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council this the 23rd day of July, 1985. <br /> <br /> <br />
