PROCR_ .~nINGS OF CITY GOUNCIL <br /> BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> PJBLIC BEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA (DUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A Board of Adjustment i~_~h]_ic hearing was conducted on Tuesday, June 25, 1985 at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />regarding KTWN-FM's request for a variance fr~ maximu~ height allowance. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Jean Schlueter <br />Mayor Gary Heitman <br />Gouncilmember A1 Sorteberg <br />Gouncilmember Arnie Gox <br />Councilm~mber Gary Reimann <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />Director of Technical Services Clayton Berg <br />City Planner Anne Norris <br />Chief Accountant Jeanne Baapala <br />Reporter Angela Flint <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Schlueter called the I~h]_ic hearing to order at 8:08 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN <br /> <br />Chairperson Schlueter noted, for the record, a letter reoeived frcm Mr. and <br />Mrs. Otto Sundberg opposing KTWN's request for a variance frcm maximun height <br /> <br />Mr. Frank Hughs - Stated that he does not live in Ramsey but owns property <br />near the proposed location for the 1000' radio tower. Mr. Hughes stated that <br />he was of the understanding that any tower had to be situated on a large enough <br />piece of property so that if the tower would collapse, it would fall on it's <br />own property. <br /> <br />Gouncilmember Cox stated that there has been conoern expressed about the <br />process in which this variance application is being reviewed. Councilmeuber <br />Cox stated that State 1~ requires the City to advise those property owners, <br />within a certain perimeter of the subject property, of the variance <br />application; that has been accomplished. Councilmeuber Cox stated that the <br />citizens should not feel that anything is being put p~st th~m; anybody, as well <br />as E~WN, has a right to present their case to this Council. Gouncilm~uber Cox <br />requested that the audience try to avoid repetitious oc~ents and Council will <br />make a decision based on citizen concern. <br /> <br />June 25, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
