Councihnember Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #04-05-112 <br /> <br />RESOLUITON CONSIDERING AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE A PUBLIC WORKS <br />MAINTENANCE WORKER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, approximately 90 applications were received for the Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker position and a total of fourteen individuals were interviewed for the <br />position; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, staff recommends that Mr. Michael Berge be hired for the Public Works <br />Maintenance position. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br /> <br />1 ) Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Hire Michael Berge as a Public Works Maintenance Worker at an hourly wage of $16.03 <br />contingent upon satisfactory criminal background and reference checks, a pre- <br />employment physical and a drug screen. Mr. Berge will begin employment on or near <br />May 31, 2004 and will be subject to a six-month probationary period. All other personnel <br />polices will apply normally. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Pearson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councihnember Cook <br />Councihnember Pearson <br />Counci hnember Elvig <br />Councilmember Kurak <br />Councilmember Strommen <br />Counci hnember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />~OllC <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
